On the civil side, the United Nations and the international community provide aid, feeding and supporting Gaza’s infrastructure, which relieves Hamas of responsibilities. Militarily, Iran is the primary backer, supplying vast amounts of weapons and now supporting them through other proxies like Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.
