Barry: I got a question for you — did Trump lie to us and to Israel? He’s been promising every single day to annihilate Hamas if they break his 20-point peace plan. Surprise: they’re breaching it every single day now. After listening to IDF Captain Yair Pinto — just back from Gaza — it’s getting a little silly, and I don’t know a better word. President Trump, Vice-President Vance, and Secretary of State Rubio have all been to Israel — unprecedented American presence — and each has said the same thing: Hamas must disarm, give up weapons, leave Gaza, and have no role in any future government. The first prerequisites — return the hostages, living and dead — haven’t been honored. Israel knows where most of the bodies are, yet they’re not being returned. Trump says daily that if Hamas continues the violence, they will be annihilated — but after constant promises, does anyone still believe him?
Yair (IDF Captain Yair Pinto): Some people do still believe him — Qatar, Turkey, and others who pressured Hamas to accept the cease-fire show the claim has weight — but words must be backed by action. Repeating a threat helps, yes, but it’s the follow-through that matters. You can see it on the ground: American officials have been in Israel almost every week, and the U.S. is not just talking — we’ve built a joint command station in Kiryat Gat to coordinate the cease-fire and to make sure violations are punished. When Hamas attacked and killed three IDF soldiers, the IDF responded decisively — more than 100 Hamas operatives were terminated, including platoon and company commanders. The IDF is gathering precise intelligence on Hamas leadership in Gaza; I hope Hamas received that message and stops violating the cease-fire, returns the hostages, and stops attacking our troops.
The promises, the posturing, and the blood on the ground — all of it matters. If leaders vow action, we must demand proof, not platitudes. ATP will keep bringing you frontline voices like Captain Yair Pinto and holding power to account until the hostages are home and Hamas is neutralized.

Hamas is attacking Israeli defense forces? What I've seen in various news source articles is that Hamas is killing Palestinians who wish to govern themselves. I personally don't think Trump is lying. He generally tries to quell disputes with diplomacy. When all else fails he then resorts to brute force. A centuries old on again off again war cannot be expected to come to a full stop in a few months time frame.
