Stella: California’s governor’s race is exposing just how deep the establishment machine really goes. Xavier Becerra is being marketed as some kind of “grassroots” candidate, but come on — he’s backed by Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris, Democrat insiders, Congress members, and major unions. That’s not grassroots. That’s the political establishment protecting itself. And while Steve Hilton believes there’s crossover appeal with moderates and independents who are sick of California’s decline, the bigger issue may be what’s happening behind the scenes with voter rolls. According to the DOJ, they’ve reportedly been trying to audit California voter rolls for about a year — especially in Los Angeles — and officials refuse to comply. So the obvious question becomes: what are they hiding?
Barry: We already know what they’re hiding. Dead people on voter rolls. Illegal aliens getting ballots. Duplicate registrations. This isn’t some conspiracy theory anymore — states across the country are already cleaning up hundreds of thousands of questionable registrations. We’re now seeing reports out of places like Minnesota and Georgia where people allegedly received multiple ballots. And yet every time Americans ask for transparency, they’re mocked or smeared for wanting answers. If the system is secure, then audits shouldn’t scare anybody. The real problem isn’t asking questions. The real problem is why so many officials refuse to answer them.
The moment transparency becomes “controversial,” Americans start losing trust in the system.
