Barry: So many Americans are rightfully celebrating the shutdown of USAID—because now we know where some of that taxpayer money was going. Elon Musk’s DOGE team just exposed one of the most disturbing discoveries yet: USAID funneled money to the U.S. Institute of Peace, which then sent $132,000 to Mohammad Qasim Halimi—a known Taliban member. Yes, the same Taliban responsible for slaughtering Americans in Afghanistan. And if that weren’t bad enough, Musk revealed that weapons were found inside the so-called “Institute of Peace.” According to him, it’s “the least peaceful organization we’ve worked with.” How many more terror-linked grants like this were buried in USAID’s books? This is exactly why it had to be shut down.
Will: Barry, it’s insane. We’ve seen the radical Left celebrate and protect criminals before—MS-13, Trey de Agua, George Floyd—and now we’re supposed to act surprised when they quietly fund a Taliban operative? And the same folks crying about USAID’s closure are the ones who never asked where the money was going. Maybe now we know why.
