My last video exposing a Quranic verse about beating women reached over 1 million views — and the comments were filled with people demanding that I show the exact verse.
So here it is:
Quran 4:34.
This is the verse that says men may admonish their wives, separate from them in bed, and — depending on the translation — “beat,” “strike,” or “discipline” them.
And here is the part nobody wants to talk about:
When this verse is translated for Western audiences, the language is often softened.
Words like “strike lightly” or “discipline” are used to make it sound less severe.
But the original Arabic term is widely understood as referring to striking or beating.
And that matters.
Because this is not just an ancient debate over translation.
In parts of the world today, religious and legal interpretations are still used to justify violence against women.
Look at countries where domestic violence is minimized, excused, or treated as a husband’s “discipline” rather than a crime.
Look at legal systems where men are given authority over women in ways that leave wives vulnerable, trapped, and unprotected.
This is not theory.
This is the daily reality for millions of women.
And here is the hypocrisy:
If a Christian or Jewish text were being used today to justify men beating their wives, the media would talk about it nonstop.
The feminists would riot.
The commentators would demand accountability.
The headlines would never end.
But because this involves Islam, the same voices suddenly go silent.
Completely silent.
And that silence should tell you everything.
Women’s rights do not stop mattering when the abuse becomes politically inconvenient to discuss.
A woman’s safety should not depend on whether the ideology harming her is protected by the media.
And no movement has the moral authority to lecture the West about women’s rights while refusing to confront systems that leave women vulnerable to abuse.
Here is my point:
Domestic violence is not culture.
It is not tradition.
It is not discipline.
It is abuse.
And any law, interpretation, or ideology that gives men permission to harm women must be called out — without apology.
⚡ Reaction:
The media wants selective outrage.
We want the truth.
If women’s rights mean anything, they must mean defending women everywhere — including the women living under systems that the political class is too afraid to criticize.
Silence does not protect women.
Truth does.
